Why hasn't my patient been created in the EMR?
If a new lead was converted but the patient does not appear in your EMR, there are a few common reasons.
Patient creation depends on your EMR integration and required data fields.
1. Your EMR Does Not Support Patient Creation
Automatic patient creation is currently supported for:
-
Prompt EMR
-
Stride EMR
If you use WebPT, Raintree, Clinicient, or another EMR, Second Door does not automatically create patient records at this time.
2. Required Information Is Missing
Each EMR requires certain information before a patient can be created.
Prompt requires:
-
First name
-
Last name
-
Date of birth
-
Sex at birth
-
Address
-
Phone number or email
-
Treatment location
Stride requires:
-
First name
-
Last name
-
Address
-
Phone number
-
Date of birth
-
Treatment location
If any required field is missing, the patient will not be pushed to the EMR.
3. Integration Is Not Enabled or Connected
If your EMR supports patient creation and all required fields are complete, confirm that:
-
Your EMR integration is enabled
-
The integration is properly connected
If you are unsure, contact Second Door Support.
What to Check First
-
Confirm which EMR your practice uses
-
Verify required patient information is complete
-
Confirm the integration is active
If all three are correct and the issue persists, reach out to us for further review.
